Biography:
A Madison native, Ron Todd joined Stroud, Stebbins & Stroud as an associate right out of law school in 1968.  Although working on regular occasions for a number of the firm's national clients, the heart of Ron’s practice has grown to match the firm's:  serving the legal needs of succeeding generations of successful individuals, their families, and their private businesses.

Ron has had the privilege over the past 40 years of serving as a legal counselor to a number of prominent Wisconsin families and individuals, working with highly respected accounting professionals and other members of the firm to provide legal consultation in regard to a broad spectrum of personal and business activities, including:

  • Estate, tax, and financial planning,
  • Academic and creative pursuits,
  • Philanthropy,
  • The professions,
  • Banking and finance, insurance, and agriculture,
  • The manufacture, distribution, and sale of goods,
  • Construction (general, bridge, and specialty),
  • The development, leasing, and sale of real estate,
  • Contracting for software development,
  • Real estate and insurance agencies, and
  • Other service activities.

Ron’s business practice ranges from daily advice on contract, employment, regulatory, and other operating matters, to business organization and succession planning, to all aspects of tax, and to complex business sale and acquisition transactions. Ron prefers e-mail over faxes and faxes over letters.

In 2001, 2003, 2005, and 2007, Madison Magazine recognized Ron as one of Madison's best lawyers in three different categories:  business (or corporate counsel) law, real estate law, and contract law. He has been selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America® in the field of construction law.
