Susan grew up in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and attended the University of Notre Dame for her undergraduate studies. In 2001, she graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. in English and Spanish, and was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa honor society for the liberal arts. She earned her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 2004. After graduation, she practiced business law in Chicago, where she gained experience in commercial, banking, and antitrust law. She also represented Spanish-speaking clients in immigration matters on a pro bono basis through the Midwest Immigration and Human Rights Center.

Susan returned to Madison in 2006 and served as law clerk to the Honorable Justice N. Patrick Crooks of the Wisconsin Supreme Court for the 2006-2007 term. Upon completing her clerkship, she joined our firm, where she has an active business law practice. Her experience includes representing clients with respect to business formation and corporate law, estate planning and business succession, tax appeals, and real estate law, including condominium law and foreclosure proceedings.

Susan also currently heads our firm's immigration practice, working with businesses and individuals on a variety of immigration matters, including family and employment based immigration, consular processing of visa applications, and immigration compliance. She has also successfully handled asylum cases and petitions for immigration relief under the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA). She has appeared in Chicago Immigration Court and is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA).
