Practice Areas
Garrett assists clients across a range of legal matters, including high-exposure civil litigation, real estate transactions, contract drafting and negotiation, estate planning, and Chapter 7, 11, and 13 bankruptcies.
Garrett grew up in southern Minnesota and earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota–Twin Cities. He went on to graduate cum laude from the University of Wisconsin Law School.
While in law school, Garrett actively pursued opportunities to develop his legal skills. He served as a law student practitioner, representing the State of Minnesota in hearings and trials, and spent a semester with the U.S. Department of Justice. Garrett was also a managing editor of the Wisconsin International Law Journal and mentored fellow students as part of the First Generation Lawyers program.
Outside of work, Garrett enjoys spending time outdoors. He is an avid hunter, fisherman, golfer, and snowboarder. He also enjoys traveling and following his favorite sports teams.
Practice Experience
- Assisted clients in the purchase, sale, or leasing of commercial and residential real estate.
- Assisted clients with small business formation and organization.
- Assisted in all stages of civil litigation from complaint through trial.
- Drafted successful summary judgement motions.
- Provided estate planning assistance to clients by creating wills, trusts, and powers of attorney.
